Genre

Hip Hop

This unique underground urban movement known as "hip hop" began to develop in the South Bronx area of New York City focusing on MC’ing), break beats, and house parties in the early 70’s. One of the pioneers who literally created the blueprints of hip hop and paved the way for artists who choose to explore this fresh genre was Dj Clive also known as Dj Kool Herc giving life to hip hop culture by building upon the Jamaican tradition of unrehearsed toasting, arrogant poetry and dialog over music. At Peanut Budda And Jams we take pride in our Hip Hop mix tapes that showcase the very best of hip hop from the 70’s till now.

House

House music is a genre of electronic music created by club DJs and music producers in Chicago in the early 1980s. Early house music was generally characterized by repetitive 4/4 beats, rhythms mainly provided by drum machines, off-beat hi-hat cymbals, and synthesized bass lines. While house displayed several characteristics similar to disco music, which preceded and influenced it, as both were DJ and record producer-created dance music, house was more electronic and minimalistic. The mechanical, repetitive rhythm of house was one of its main components. Our Collection of the greatest house music hits of all time is handpicked to get any party or occasion going.

R&B

This Genre gained its popularity in the 40’s, Rhythm and blues, often abbreviated as R&B, is a genre of popular music. The term was originally used by record companies to describe recordings marketed mainly to urban African Americans, at a time when "urbane, rocking, jazz based music with a heavy, insistent beat" was becoming more popular. In the commercial rhythm and blues music typical of the 1950s through the 1970s, the bands usually consisted of piano, one or two guitars, bass, drums, one or more saxophones, and sometimes background vocalists.
